Description

Agrobs Alpengrün Mash is unique: it is the first mash on the market that is completely free of grains and bran. The base consists of Prenatura fibres, dried leaves and seeds of alpine grasses and herbs. This makes Alpengrün Mash suitable not only as supplementary feed, but also as a daily basis for horses with a sensitive metabolism, dental problems or delicate digestion.

The first grainless mash

The feed industry offers horse owners a wide range of mash products to complement existing horse feed. However, these are all designed in the same way: they contain bran and are not suitable as daily feed. With Alpengrün Mash, Agrobs offers a completely new form of mash, unique in its composition.

The basis of Alpengrün Mash are the Prenatura fibres, which consist mainly of the leaves and seeds of grasses and herbs that have been dried with warm air. These are characterized by a high content of natural vital substances such as trace elements, vitamins and secondary plant substances. In addition, the Prenatura fibers provide the horse with important, highly digestible crude fiber that actively promotes gut health and the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, thanks to its prebiotic properties. This reduces the number of rotting and gas-forming bacteria in the colon.

Mucilages for a healthy gastrointestinal mucosa

Flaxseed grains and psyllium provide a high content of mucilages that coat the gastrointestinal mucosa with a protective film. They help maintain the health of an intact mucosa and regenerate the irritated mucosa after illness, medication, worming or stress. The unsaturated fatty acids also have a positive effect on the skin and coat.

Tasty and versatile

Thanks to gently dried beetroot, carrot, apple and parsnip, Alpengrün Mash is particularly tasty. Even without the addition of molasses, it is eaten with great pleasure by even picky horses. Alpengrün Mash also contains natural vital substances such as secondary plant constituents, vitamins and minerals, as well as easily digestible pectins, which in turn benefit a healthy intestinal flora. Dried rosehip peels provide a high vitamin C content for a stronger immune system. The positive effect of fennel and caraway on digestion completes the picture.

Because Alpengrün Mash deliberately contains no cereals, bran and molasses, it is also suitable for horses with a sensitive metabolism and ideal as a daily feed or as a cure, for example after colic or during moulting.

Frequently asked questions about Agrobs Alpengrün mash

What is Agrobs Alpine Green Mash?

Agrobs Alpengrün Mash is a grain-free slurry based on dried alpine grasses and herbs (Prenatura fibers). Unlike traditional mash products, it does not contain bran, cereals or molasses and is suitable as a daily feed.

When do you use Alpengrün Mash?

Alpengrün Mash is ideal as a daily feed for horses with a sensitive metabolism, as a build-up feed after colic, during moulting, after medication or deworming, and for older horses with dental problems.

How do you prepare Alpengrün Mash?

Add warm water (approx. 60 to 80°C) and soak for 5 to 10 minutes. The slobber is then immediately ready for use. Due to the high efficiency, you need less per portion than with traditional mash.

  • 80–100 g per 100 kg body weight daily

Soak the Alpengrün Mash in warm (not boiling) water, stir well and leave to soak for approx. 5–10 minutes, then feed whilst still lukewarm.

In summer, the mash can be mixed with cold water and fed. The soaking time increases to approximately 15–20 minutes.

  • Mixing ratio of Alpengrün Mash to water = 1:3 to 1:7
(for example, mix 500 g Alpengrün Mash with 1.5 to 3.5 litres of water)
  • Introduce gradually.

What’s the difference from a normal mash?

AlpenGrün Mash from AGROBS contains no bran and is completely free from grain and molasses. It can therefore also be fed daily.

Why can I feed it daily?

Because it contains no bran. It is very rich in phosphorus and can lead to a phosphorus surplus if fed over a long period. Furthermore, feeding bran daily can have a laxative effect.

When should AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash be fed daily?

In cases of digestive problems (stomach, intestines), or for horses that are too thin. In fact, feeding it daily as a course of treatment is always better than 2–3 times a week, as otherwise there is always a change in diet.

How much AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash can I feed?

A horse cannot overeat on it (just as with hay). The recommended amount is 80 to 100 g per 100 kg of target weight.

How long should AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash be soaked (in warm or cold water)?

  • 5–10 mins in warm water
  • 10–15 minutes in cold water

Does AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash need to be cooked?

No.

Can AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash also be fed to horses with metabolic disorders (EMS, Cushing’s, PSSM)?

Why is AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash prebiotic?

Because it contains Prenatura® fibres, which have a positive effect on the beneficial gut flora.

Is AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash also probiotic?

No, as no bacteria or yeasts are added.

Does AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash have a laxative effect?

No.

Does AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash have a laxative effect?

Is AGROBS AlpenGrün Mash also suitable for horses with KPU?

Yes, as it promotes healthy gut flora, which is particularly important in cases of KPU.

Are the ingredients in AlpenGrün Mash doping-free? I have a competition horse.

Yes, according to the German Equestrian Federation (Deutsche Reiterliche Vereinigung e.V.), as the amount of herbs it contains does not exceed 0.5 per cent. Unfortunately, we cannot provide information on doping regulations in other countries. Please contact the relevant federations in the country in question.

Is the amount of psyllium in AlpenGrün Mash sufficient if my horse suffers from sand colic?

No, in this case, psyllium must be administered in larger quantities as a course of treatment.

Why does AlpenGrün Mash contain apple pulp? Isn’t it too high in sugar?

Thanks to the pectins, hemicellulose and cellulose it contains, apple pulp has a positive effect on the digestive tract. The apple pulp does contain a small amount of sugar – but this amount is not particularly high.
